BadNewsForTheBears,
This is JMO, I start all my pups on a drag then coons. I run them with my older dogs so they build confidence in them selves and learn to trust the other dogs. I try to get my pups to every tree if they can pack a tracking collar I feed them in on every race once it gets lined out by a couple of dogs. When they are real young they usually go for a bit then come back and thats fine, I just let them run loose or get leashed up on the way to the tree. When I get close enough to hear the dogs pounding the tree I try and feed them in.
Sounds like you have a pack that can run a bear. Your pups will learn from them more quickly and efficiently running with the older dogs then you could teach. If you instill the basics how to lead, not charge the box,run a drag, ext. they will hone there skills running with the other dogs. JMO sorry so winded,
Joe
