Sprained *Ankle*

Ok so my older dog seems to have either broken or sprained something where her first joint is in her foot. I dont know how she did it as she had been fine for days after our last bear hunting trip and I think it was from one morning when she was jumping up on the fence because they winded a cat out of our bark yard in the early morning and started going crazy. I started to notice it on Thursday and its now Sunday, how much longer should I give it to heal up before decide to take her to the vet? I know its not something in the pad of her foot because she doesnt fully want to put pressure on the joint where it bends to have the pads of her feet fit flush with the ground, hence why I called it her ankle I guess. Im hoping nothing is broken as I would pay the vet bill because she is a good dog but am hoping its just sprained. Anyone ever had his happen? Dont want to not get it fixed properly if someone thinks it might be broken. Thanks!

Jeez!!! Probably best I go get an x-ray, plus my mutt needs to be cut, my little cat needs to be cut and my pup needs his next set of shots. Better just go do what I thought I needed to do. Thanks guys, looks like im on my way to the vet this coming monday!

Also how is the dog after that plate was put in larry? Looks expensive!
