Amazed
I bought a tracking collar from Marshall 6 years ago. Dogs had chewed the end of the antena off a couple of years ago still worked great so no reason to take it in right? Well last week a bear chewed on it and broke the light on it that tells you if it is on or not. Well it still worked but you had to turn the receiver on to tell if it was on or off, so I decided to send it in.
Marshall called up a few days later and I asked them how much it was going to be they said that they just put a brand new one in the mail at NO charge, and told me that they were sending my old collar too because it had my name plate on it.
Tell me what other company would do that? And this is not the first time they have done it for me.
Old time customer service. It sure was a nice change from dealing with Garmin.

The biggest benefit I've seen to those Marshall collars is when you put the collar on one of those high powered Walker dogs it immediately triples the value of the dog! Can't beat that!!

Re: Amazed
Houndawg you have got that part figured out, and another good thing is they have those lights on them so they are easier to hit when you shoot at them in the dark. LOL!
sorry I couldn't resist. LOL!
The Marshall collars are a great product and I love hearing the customer service story Devin that is worth a ton.
I had some Marshalls and the unit and it worked well but because I have a gunny sack full of Quick Tracs i went ahead and sold it but not becasue it wasn't top quality.
Now here is what I am hearing on the new Marshalls. I know Van is using them and that is a strong endoesement because he has been using tracking collars since Alley Ooop got his first plott pup.. They have the most range and a very strong beat that is however rather slow and that lends to their long battery life. This is not really a problem to a hunter like me who is generally on foot or a horse and following at a slow pace. Chaser however and he can chime in on this as he hunts with Van as much as anybody still prefers the Quick Trac because of their
rapid beat. He said when rigging bear, running and gunning on those roads he can pick up those Quick Trac signals much easier than he can the slower beat of the Marshall even though the Marshall offers a stronger and more distant signal. I guess if you find them before the tree rots and falls over that is all good.
Quick Trac has also furnished me pretty good service at a reasonable rate and turn around time so it is good to have companies out there offering a great product and service with a smile. Sorry to hear Garmin is not up to those standards yet. I am considering GPS units in a few years but I wanted ya'll to work them bugs out first. LOL!
Houndawg if a Marshall collar can add that much to the worth of a walker dog can you imagine what it might add to the worth of a check broke moose hound? WOW!

WOW! You're right... The young one on the right is wearing a new Marshall lighted collar, you figure he's worth about $200 plus that $200 tracking collar, and the $130 shocking collar, that puts his value at just over $500. I'd say thats almost tripled for sure!
I can say I have at least one dog worth more than thier feed now! Heck I can try and become a famous dog breeder/seller now my dogs worth 3x as much!!

Re: Amazed
"Heck I can try and become a famous dog breeder/seller now my dogs worth 3x as much!!"
What do you mean try and become famous Cassandra? You already ARE famous girl!
I've heard Tony mention your name and he don't talk about anybody unless they are famous or a hounding legend!!
So the mere fact your name rolled off his lips means you are FAMOUS!! Wahooooo!!
Which reminds me, I ordered my autographed poster of you a year ago and I'm still waiting...
Gonna put it right next to that Farrah Fawcett poster I won at the Carnival when I was 14.
And just ignore my cheap shots on Walkers. I got one in my backyard too. Everybody needs a dog that will leave a steaming hot bear track to run elk all day.

Keeps us humble.

Re: Amazed
I can never become a true legend unless I move to Utah. It's just not in the cards for someone that lives out here in CA.
I'm not so sure when Tony mentions my name it's in a good way. Probably has some words following it like, "trouble" or "pain in the ass"
You coming out this way this year? I waited all bear season for the two Utah legends to hunt with me, and it never happened. Have you all wisen'd up this year?
I'm glad you pointed out my dogs are worth at least 3x as much as I had believed! Makes me feel a little better. One of these days these Walkers of mine WILL tree a deer, and I will be the biggest name around. Until then, there's just gonna be some tired deer, and a girl with a dream.

Ha Mike, you been smoking the wacky Cactus again? If you a getting a slow beep then your dog is stopped and has been stopped for awhile.
And I would love to see quick track replace a collar for free after 6 years for any reason. Brent I am glad you finally figured that $hit out but no one has ever accused you of being a quick learner. Look you are still hanging around your Idols Tony and Ike.

Re: Amazed
Hey dude,
You got that part right about me being a slow learner. I still got one walker dog left at my house, so nobody is going to accuse me of being a genius.
You just don't see a lot of PHD's driving around with a truck full of long legged beagles.
I forgot to tell you my story dude!! Can't believe I forgot this. A while back I found a saddle on the internet for sale, looked like what I was after. Talked to the guy and got an address go to look at it.
Well, he lived in Herriman so I swung by and ended up buying the saddle. He noticed my dog box and asked about it. I mentioned I was a hound guy. Big mistake.
He proceeded to point out a neighbor who was also a dog guy. I sat there and listened to him rant about his neighbor and put it this way, it wasn't real flattering stuff. He made it pretty clear how he felt about the guy.
I asked if he knew the guys name and he said, "Not sure what his first name is but the ****** last name is..." Well, I won't put it on here. I'll let you figure out the rest.
Good to know other guys neighbors feel the same way as mine.

So I'm popular and you're an A$$ hole? Hard to argue either point there dude!
But I think this is pretty old news isn't it? Is there anyone on this site who hadn't already figured that out? Anyone? Anyone? Hello?

Re: Amazed
I don't think there is but I just pointed it out just in case you got some more groupies. You know how your head has swelled over the few years you have been running hounds you might not be able to turn it so good anymore to see your followers.

That's the beauty of my followers, I don't need to turn my big head to see 'em. I can just listen to the chants "HoundDawg! HoundDawg!"

But hey, we all got followers dude, even you!! I got my groupies walking around behind me on the mountain all day...
And you got a pack of walker dogs walking behind you all day!! See, you got followers too dude!!
