Female slumped could it have been her cycle?

Post by LBell »

I have a female that will be two this fall, she was one heck of a pup up and coming then about two weeks befor she came into heat she slumped bad. She would not range out at all when coon hunting and was just not her self, she even let our pup start snitching food out of her bowl somthing that was not done before, I even had a hard time getting her to load up in the truck she just wanted to stay in the back yard. She has been this way since her cycle, about 3 months now, other then speed I thought she was going to have it all as a dog but now I don't know? Could this have happened because of her going into heat? If so will she come out of it, has anybody had this happen to them? I am still working her and trying to hunt her as much as i can so we will see, I would apreciate any advice. Thanks

dont know for sure but i have a three year old plott female that has done the same thing. a month ago she would be at every tree and going nuts but started in heat two weeks ago and just hasnt completed a race since. did the same thing last year. when shes right shes as good as i got but now she almost acts like she aint worth feeding but she bounced back by fall season last year so hoping she will this year. was hoping to get some pups out of her but now not sure if this is normal with other dogs or not. hope she comes back for ya, good luck

She has been off it for a while and is starting to reaaly show her old self again, she acts likes she wants to go in the kennel when i go out side, and the other night when i was roading the dogs she ran a few pounds off a range cow. I know it wasn't the best thing and she did get buzzed back to the road, but she was on. And at this point i'll take it once!
