No lions around here so that really is not an option. Has to be bear above the others.

hogs. There is a never ending supply, Its local for me and has quick action. Not too hard to strike bay and catch 4 or more in a single hunt.

bigboarstopper is right on. Nothing else presents as much opportunity and challange combined.

A dog smart bobcat is potentially the most challenging hunt.

sticking to the poll, i voted bobs.
they are the most widespread & numerous of the four. AND they can legally be dogged in many states where lion & bear cannot. and lastly a superior bobcat dog has a better chance of doing a good job on the other three than the other way around.

but off poll it's hogs all the way

That's a tough question and one I'm glad I don't have to answer. In the beginning, I probably liked lion hunting more than bear but something about riggin bears always did get my heart pumping and the blood flowing. Then my Choco dog started rigging lions as hard as the others do bear and gets the whole box going. My favorite sport is rigging, lions or bears it doesn't matter. Something about the silence before the storm thing, and then all hell breaks loose--gotta love it!

As for as when you get to the tree , there is nothing better than looking at a tom lion sitting up there . It is impossible to beat the addrinilin of killing a bear on the ground in thick brush afther your dogs have done there job and held him , take off your hat to that. But to me when you are all alone at 2 am and you are running a bobcat there is a piecefull satisfaction that cant be explained . I think that is as close to heaven as i can get.

I would have to say lions but only because there are more of them where I live, but if I lived in bear country it would be them hands down, way more intence.

I love lion hunting but in my neck of the woods the bears are plentiful and 2 or 3 runs a day are the norm if you have enough dogs to spell off. You know you are in for run every time you go out. For that reason I choose bears.
