I'am glad you checked on that Tim . Cuz I was wondering about that English Male that shows alot of old Smokie River .. I was wondering if I could take the DNA of a known Smokie and Check it against that English ..

I was reading somewhere that it Could take a 120 Marker Test but this was a Theory ..

Tim this is one other thing I was Thinking about last night...

I believe that Bill made more than 1 French Cross.. I think the First Time he did it was with "Cowboy" when he got the First Lee Bros. Females...

Now in the Movies I believe the Ones we are looking at may have been a 2nd time that he Rebuilt his Pack after the War..

Could Bill have had a Supply of GGS accross the Border in Canada ???? And if the Cross Worked the First time "It would Work the Second time" ?? It just looks like the French Hounds in the Movie were a more Refined Race of GGS then Cowboy Was...

I absolutely agree. I think this is why he was able to make such a big splash, in such a short time, genetically.

I was wondering when the First Color 16 mm came on the Market and Was I ever "Shocked" !! 1939

New York Rollerskates 1939 - Stock Footage
Shot with one of the first color 16 mm cameras in the world, the Bolex h-16 film camera makes this sequence quite unique. Exposed on KODACHROME Film in one of the first color labs in New York City and recently Telecined to Digibeta and digitized to QuickTime files this is very rare footage.

Due to the lack of color film during the World War 2 you have to keep in mind that these images are shot in the same era as black and white film by far was the dominant way of documenting the many horrible events taking place at the time. When looking closer at these unique images, your first guess would probably be that they where shot in the 1960s rather than in the 30s and 40s.

I also heard that Bill got alot of advice from Leon Whitney on his crosses. Leon was trying to recreate the Normandy hound?
