My wife Kelly, filled her moose tag Saturday. To say she was jacked would be an understatement! It was exciting to help her fill that once in a lifetime tag.
We had been riding around from one area to another and as we were starting to head home when I spotted a cow moose. When she started to leave the area with her calf, she had a bull in tow. We were able to get around in front of them as they were going to cross the road. We could hear them in the brush and I spotted the bull about 75 yards away. I had to physically move Kelly's head so she could see him. One shot from my .270 and he was down in less the ten yards! She started shaking so bad that I took the rifle away from her. And Tyler was right there with us too.
My wife isn't really a hunter. She has shot one cougar, one bear, and now one moose. She has yet to even go deer hunting! So when this nice young bull presented the opportunity, she layed the smack down on him!

good deal - i like to hunt with hounds- and dont care to do much hunting without hounds- EXCEPT MOOSE
moose hunting is alot of work but can get your blood pumping thats for sure - ive never shot one- have guided 9 moose hunters - and got 8 moose - its lottery or pay big in auction to get a tag -- guiding is almost as fun as shooting myself --
was out scouting yesterday -- called in 5 -- its a thrill to me to call them in specially when u hear them coming
i heard this one busting brush and then some soft grunts then a hoof hit on stone- - knew he was coming - he isnt huge, but my heart was beating when he appeared - lol
ive seen a real monster in same area- hope i can see him sat morning
