Re: Albert Noland
I never hunted with Albert but talked to him many times. I think he is still alive in Portal or San Simon but he hasn't been cranking out the stories like he use to. Has to be getting up in years.
I met his nephew Lonnie one time years back in Socorro when I sold him a few dogs. He had the famous lion hunter Bruce Bull with him and it was interesting to hear some of Bruce's stories. I imagine if Lonnie was hanging with Bruce he was a pretty dang good lion hunter because Bruce was top shelf.

The only reason I used to take Full Cry was to read his stuff. It got pretty interesting there towards the end.
Once he wasn't writing in there anymore, I had no use for that magazine. Used to love his stuff, never dull.
We were hunting his country one time and almost went to look him up and meet him. Still wish I would have done it, some pretty entertaining rants there towards the end.
I wonder if that's how Mike Leonard is gonna sound here in another 20 years?

I think he's still in San Simon. Talked to him on the phone about a year ago. I'm sure I would of heard if anything would of happened. His kinfolk live all round me.

Re: Albert Noland
ALBERT IS STILL IN SAN SIMONE, I SPOKE TO HIM LAST MONTH, I BOUGHT SOME YOUNG DOGS FROM HIM ONCE, NOT TOO IMPRESSED WITH HIS DOGS BUT HE IS A HELL OF A GOOD OLD BOY, WE HUNTED THE SAME CANYONS AND BLUFFS A FEW TIMES IN THE PAST 40 YEARS. I HAVE BEEN HUNTING LIONS FOR NEAR ON TO 45 YEARS ALL OVER THE US , SOUTH AMERICA AND AFRICA AND ALWAYS STAYED OUT OF THE SPOTLIGHT BUT THERE ARE VERY FEW MEN I HAVE EVER BOUGHT DOGS FROM THAT WERE GOOD, AND THE BEST I HAVE MET IS A FELLOW ABOUT FORTY SOMETHING OUT OF WEST TEXAS NAMED WAYLON BRYANT HE HAS THE ORIGINAL FOUNDATION LINES OF SACKETT AND FINLEY RIVER TYPE WALKERS THAT ARE UNSTOPABLE, HE REALLY KNOWS HOUNDS FROM BREEDING TO TRAINING VERY FEW BIG NAME PEOPLE HAVE ANY BETTER, HE HAS A HELL OF A LINE OF BLUES AND ENGLISH ALSO. I HAVE HAD BIGGERSTAFF DOGS, NOSHEBA, HOPEMAN, COLES AND MANY MANY OTHERS BUT HAVE BEEN MORE PLEASED WITH HIS THAN ANYONE ELSES, HE IS A LITTLE HOT TEMPERED AND FLYS OFF THE HANDLE PRETTY EASY BUT IT IS ALL WORTH IT WHEN YOU GET A FEW OF HIS LION OR BOBCAT HOUNDS.
