So far 9 of the 14 bears in the sport harvest are females.

Real dry in the south this year, most of those sows are getting killed by people sitting on water not the houndsmen

Can't be state wide, theres only certain units open.

I know a lot of females are taken in ca. in the beginning of our season because they are feeding to go din and have cubs. That's what a old timer told me

Well i know we caught and released more sows and cubs than normal. To me this is bad news, that means there will be a whole lot of FAST RUNNING bears next year
. but There are still big bores around and we are glad atleast we have plenty of game to run in the future.
