I under guessed him, and passed on shooting him! Thought we had a bigger one hitting the baits. I knew I was wrong as soon as he started his kartwheel out of the tree, this is the bear I was after. Lost a little sleep in the last few days (lol) but happy for the gal who shot him, not many women hunt harder than she does.

Eastern vs. western bears, has anyone else ever noticed that eastern bears will be huge but still seem to have bigger ears, longer heads and be taller/lankier than the ones out west? I have noticed it in photos but really got to see it up close when we had a 'bear show' at our local fair. They had several boars over 500 lbs (all their bears were from the eastern US) that if I looked at them from a distance I would have said were A LOT smaller. I'm sure they are not always like that and you will find individuals in either location that could pass for being from the other...just kind of interesting. Or maybe its just me not being used to seeing black ones

Oh, yeah the big ones will definately tree :D
