Re: Diatomaceous earth
Hey Jerry, I have not personally used it for worming, but I've read that it works real well. I don't know about the fleas so much, but I expect it would work, just make sure your dogs don't get it up their noses. Stuff is also real good in the garden at killing bugs too. Speaking of which how id yours go this year?

Just found a website with lots of info on D. Earth being used for worming.

Hello Zach
50 tomato's.
Really like Mule Team.
Tasted good, but all Black krim died. 6 of them.
Have usual brandy wine, mortgage lifter, early girl, La Roma, parks whopper.
And a few new to me, Granny Smith, Yellow girl, Cherokee Purple.
50 peppers.
Not a good year for them.
Too wet and cool.
Bought 50 #'s of Yukon Gold.
Ran out of room, managed to get 12 rows 25 ' long.
Won't need to buy any for a while.
Gave a bunch of tomato's away.
A lot of people had a complete die-off.
Blight or wilt. Crippled some of mine and killed 6.
Roughly another month till frost.
Bought PVC for a hoop house.
Going to try to extend growing season.
Hows your garden.
Jerry

Re: Diatomaceous earth
I offer the Diatomaceous Earth as an effective, all natural, wormer, or pest control. When I found out the hunters weren't using it, I added it to my product line. The guys love it!!

Re: Diatomaceous earth
You guys had a pretty cool summer didn't you. I heard there are a lot of pumpkin farmers with small crops this year too. Too cool and wet. Well wish it was that way here. We normally receive about 2.5 - 4 inches of rain in our summer monsoon in Phoenix. This year we had .8 inches of rain with some very warm temps. My tomatoes died first, though my heirlooms lived the longest and there are still two plants alive, not sure how, but they look like crap. My green beans went next. We had a week or so of 110-118 with wind, so those puppies dried out and died real quick. I could have kept it all alive, but I can't justify spending 50 dollars a month on water to make the plants live while they aren't producing.
I had real good luck with my Armenian cucumbers. They take the heat with no problems at all. All in all it wasn't to bad. I canned a bunch of tomatoes, got fat on green beans and now it's time to start the fall/winter garden. I'm going to try potatoes, carrots and onions with a couple of tomatoes for good measure. It's nice to get the tomatoes started in the fall or winter. Their roots get good and established, then when spring hits, look out, they might grow all the way to the giant on top of the clouds
!! Tell me a little more about this hoop house you are building. How much did it cost and how do you put one together?
Zach

This was the simplest.
Wont take a hurricane.
But I don't think any of them will.
I think about 100.00
Bought some extra rebar for tomato cages.
Here is next years project.
Might just be what you are looking for.
