Was out bear hunting this morning, got in a heated race on the highway....Long story short, tracker + pavement = broken tracker
The tracker is an icom ic-r10 tracker.....It still kind of works, but it doesn't beep all the time and the beep comes through sounding weird. Assuming some wires got broke....
Anyways, any suggestions on a good place to send it to get it repaired? Anyone have any dealings with icom themselves?
Icom ic-r10 tracker question
Re: Icom ic-r10 tracker question
I had one stop working and a buddy did alot of calling around. He found one place to send it, in CA i believe but they said it was a discontinued model and wouldn't be worth the money for them to even look at it. So I bought a used one, still have the old one and would love to know where it could be fixed also.

Re: Icom ic-r10 tracker question
I have an R-10 and it slipped out of my hands.(Trying to lead dogs, talk on a radio and carry a tracker, my ignorance) Wouldn't pick up a signal right by the collar. Had other people have problems similar. The guy that works on my radios soldered the board right where the antenna plugs into the scanner and fixed it right up and didn't charge anything. Have them check the board circuitry for a break. Hope this helps. Some people just want you to junk and buy new!!

Re: Icom ic-r10 tracker question
My hunting buddy and I both have the r-10 and his did the same thing. He opened it up and sodered the conection back and it works perfect. You should try that because it is discontinued so they probably wont fix it for you. Good Luck
