this is a great thread- id rather read about your dog trashing than tell ya bout mine .
i think ive owned some of the best porcupine dogs ever born-- they are the worse trash there is - a great porcupine dog doesnt usually live too long - its not even funny sometimes
when i used to coonhunt - i thought skunks were the worse trash
sometimes i think when u say big game hounds, it just means bigger trash .

ive seen a few mad moose up close- lol -- i never took any pictures
my buddy ran a moose rite thru a college town--- not just thru town ,but round and round , for hours , was a short piece in the newspaper, i mean , he atracted way too much attention with that deal .
im not critisizing him , his dogs were straighter than most .
if u own a dog , it could happen, tomoro -
they dont call them dogs for nothing ,
ive been pretty fortunate to do whatever moose running, baying ive done in bigger woods - not as many witnesses- i hate to even say something like that, lol ,,bad luck
lots of people here- - lot of them would shoot your dog if they just thought it was running deer or moose , a warden will give you a ticket- you can lose your hunting license
dogs being dogs , it happens , i try very hard to keep it to a minimum-
so anyways -- ill tell ya one trash story that was long enuff ago , staute of limitations, has kicked in
coyote hunting in april ,had a brand new dog fox season is closed
we can run coyote all year ---in the spring is when people are most touchy about running deer-
was an old coyote track with lots of fresher fox tracks around-
dog jumped and headed for the highway-
i cut around with skiddoo and saw large tracks ahead of the dog-- what i meant was larger than a fox,lol radioed my buddies , its ok , not a fox,
i didnt check close enuff- it was a deer-
my buddies got to the highway , too late to see the deer but plenty of time to pack a whole mess of dogs behind mine-
a women was cross country skiing and saw the whole thing-- called the warden--
i chased around with snowmobile and got a few dogs caught - the last dog managed to catch the deer-- rite on another animal loving womans lawn. - --right in the village
luckily deer was able to stumble away after my buddies pulled the dog off
my snowmachine wasnt registered , i hadnt exactly been running on legal trails and warden was around so i sorta went for a ride for awhile to avoid seeing the warden-
got home --he was sitting in my driveway-- looking kinda redfaced- well figured mite as well fess up - told him whole story - only defence i had was we had killed about 40 coyote that winter and most rite out of a big deer yard- hadnt had any deer problems - i thought we ought to be entitled to just one-he thought so too,

he was one of the few wardens that i really got along great with-
that was the first day i met him ,
