Well I got a few stories here :x

One time while running my dogs on a bear they crossed into the rez near bye hauling ass after this bear. We came to a tree about 30 yards from the stream where the dogs had him bayed. The bear came down bolted to the creek right in front of a fisherman. The fisherman did not notice till the last second until he had hooked the yearling bear right in the neck and pulled him over into the water. It was the funniest stuff but I had to haul ass out of there with my dogs before he would tell the rezervation rangers.

Another time while north of Flagstaff Arizona with my dogs on a walk we saw a hunter at in the grassland about 200 yds away. He was at the edge of a 40plus elk herd. Before I knew it my wife let go of the dogs and they ran after the elk. In the binocs I could see the guy drawing his bow and pshhh my dogs go flying threw the herd and scattering all the elk. I heard the guy scream what the **** at about 150 yds on the way. My dogs followed the elk for another mile and I got them back

Best "trash race" I ever saw involved 3 men and a highly trained police dog. Starts out. I was 16 working for my dad at a private school at night changing out the lights. Well one of the guys he employees was a character and always pulling pranks. He went to get more tools and met the cop that patroled the campus. The cop asked if anyone was in the building that he wanted to let (whatever the hell his dog's name was but, I'll call him killer) loose and stretch his legs. Well this guy says "nah, it's just me" and walks off. The cop turns his killer loose and he stands outside the door smoking. Well ole killer goes room to room and is coming out of of a room down the hall as I'm coming out of mine. I see Killer and know he's the "shit" and go running towards him to get to the lockers. Killer goes into kill mode and is running head long at me. I jump up and ontop of a locker but, ole killer can almost reach me jumping at me. I run from one set of lockers to the next trying to keep him from getting me. This whole time I'm screaming and cussing I can see the damn cop smoking outside the door. Finally he looks in and throws his smoke and jerks the door open and says "what ever his name was" and something in German and ole killer sets right down on his ass, tongue laled out, staring at me. The cop runs up and says "that guy said no one was in here." I said "well he's an damned liar" and what took you so long to get in here. He said "I couldn't hear anything with that air conditioner outside running... you need to have your dad look at that". I said "you can bet your sweet ass I will." When I got there the next day after school everyone was laughing at me and the cop had me a junior badge you would give a 5 year old and they had a paper printed up for the dog and it said "trash treeing dog."

this is a great thread- id rather read about your dog trashing than tell ya bout mine . :D

i think ive owned some of the best porcupine dogs ever born-- they are the worse trash there is - a great porcupine dog doesnt usually live too long - its not even funny sometimes

when i used to coonhunt - i thought skunks were the worse trash :)

sometimes i think when u say big game hounds, it just means bigger trash .
:) ive seen a few mad moose up close- lol -- i never took any pictures :)

my buddy ran a moose rite thru a college town--- not just thru town ,but round and round , for hours , was a short piece in the newspaper, i mean , he atracted way too much attention with that deal .
im not critisizing him , his dogs were straighter than most .
if u own a dog , it could happen, tomoro -

they dont call them dogs for nothing , :?

ive been pretty fortunate to do whatever moose running, baying ive done in bigger woods - not as many witnesses- i hate to even say something like that, lol ,,bad luck

lots of people here- - lot of them would shoot your dog if they just thought it was running deer or moose , a warden will give you a ticket- you can lose your hunting license

dogs being dogs , it happens , i try very hard to keep it to a minimum-

so anyways -- ill tell ya one trash story that was long enuff ago , staute of limitations, has kicked in :)
coyote hunting in april ,had a brand new dog fox season is closed
we can run coyote all year ---in the spring is when people are most touchy about running deer-
was an old coyote track with lots of fresher fox tracks around-

dog jumped and headed for the highway-
i cut around with skiddoo and saw large tracks ahead of the dog-- what i meant was larger than a fox,lol radioed my buddies , its ok , not a fox,

i didnt check close enuff- it was a deer-

my buddies got to the highway , too late to see the deer but plenty of time to pack a whole mess of dogs behind mine-

a women was cross country skiing and saw the whole thing-- called the warden--

i chased around with snowmobile and got a few dogs caught - the last dog managed to catch the deer-- rite on another animal loving womans lawn. - --right in the village
luckily deer was able to stumble away after my buddies pulled the dog off
my snowmachine wasnt registered , i hadnt exactly been running on legal trails and warden was around so i sorta went for a ride for awhile to avoid seeing the warden-

got home --he was sitting in my driveway-- looking kinda redfaced- well figured mite as well fess up - told him whole story - only defence i had was we had killed about 40 coyote that winter and most rite out of a big deer yard- hadnt had any deer problems - i thought we ought to be entitled to just one-he thought so too, :D he was one of the few wardens that i really got along great with-

that was the first day i met him ,

was coon hunting one nite - dog brought a skunk back to me just like a lab with a duck--- i thought it was dead, told him to drop it --

he did --- apparently he had a good soft mouth like a lab too - when he dropped it , skunk sprayed me and dog and ran off

-- when i used to coonhunt , i thought bear were trash . :) after treeing one by accident i just had to have some beardogs ,lol

- last week , walked into my old beardog ,i was sure she had a bear bayed in the corn.. was a big ol coon- that wasnt a real disaster except i thought she was my straightest dog,, she hadnt run a coon in years .. a broke dog i think is about as common as bigfoot ,
:D

i hate to use that term- if you ask me if that dog is broke i just say ,hes bent a little

i had a coondog that was as straight as any ive seen ,

one nite she was barking at something, but didnt sound exactly treed

had a turkey bayed up on the ground- it had a broken wing --

i heard a rumour - wont mention any names cause i didnt see it happen , was about a locally famous bear dog , i heard he bayed up a snapping turtle -- :D

I think the best trash race that i have ever saw and enjoyed are all the ones that i see everyone else dogs running. Dogs are dogs and none are broke, they all get bored and no person is perfect so no dog is either. Knowing that, it still pisses me off when my dogs trash, I guess thats why i buy shock collars and buzz rods!
