Hi guys!
My name is Rasmus and I have been in here on the forum and read for a while. I live in Sweden and I have 3 dogs, one east-sibirian laika, one dachshund, and one foxterrier!
I hunt almost only predators like foxes and badgers, but my east-sibirian laika comes from good bear-lines so my plan is to hunt bear and wildboars with him.
In the future I plan to buy a plotthound to, many of the most serious bearhunters in Sweden have plotthounds.
A picture on my laika and a badger after some tracking-training...
Some of the huntingresult of the winter 2006...
If somebody of you know an outfitter that offers his customers to bring own dogs and hunt blackbear, maybe with his experienced beardogs, please tell me! I would love to come over and hunt some blackbears in the future.
I hope you understad me even if my english is bad,
Best regards,
Rasmus

Nice photos!
Welcome to the board.
I hunted wuth some guys from Sweden last spring for Black Bear in southeastern British Columbia,2 very nice gentlemen.
Anyway the outfitter does do bear hunts for Black Bear and Grizzly Bear where you can bring along your own dogs,he is a top notch houndsman and will help you out.
Joe Conroy,Sheep Creek Outfitters 1-250-489-2192 in Cranbrook BC.

Re: Hello from Sweden!
Rasmus: Welcome to this Board. I have hunted the Cranbrook BC area several times spring bear hunting spot and stalk. Having bear hunted in about 10 states , I can't say I ever saw more concentration of bears in any one area. than in SE BC.
As far as Grizzly go they are still somewhat on a quota system ,each outfitter only allowed X amount of permits for any 5 year period and they go fast. The Grizz hunt I was on was a Pack-in to a spike camp deal and spot and stalk from there. Not saying that Grizz with hounds would be impossible ,but I have heard that things can go wrong in a hurry doing that " dead dogs " On top of which you have the wolves to worry about. Quite PRICEY by the way
I do not want to get into your $$$ business ,but I do not know what is involved in transporting hounds and firearms on international flights . You could possibly contact African or lion-tracker who is on here a lot or Pm Steve Morror on the hound breed Majestic section . I know he has sent some hounds to Norway and possibly other countries so he may be able to point you in the right direction
again If you are not after Grizz and to SAVE a lot of Money you may want to consider a bear hunt with hounds in Maine .Good number of bears and getting access to a firearm would NOT be a problem.

Re: Hello from Sweden!
Eric Muff: Thanks! I have mailed with Joe and it´s nice to hear that he is a top notch houndsmen and outfitter!
bob baldwin jr: Thanks for the welcoming!
To get my dogs with me i don´t think is a big problem, a friend was in BC (to Andy Hagberg) in the spring 2008 and he had his own dogs with on the trip. I think it cost about 400$/dog to get them on the flight.
It´s blackbears I am interested to hunt. I think that´s a good start for a bearhound and bigger chance to get result and that´s what I want.
Do you know any good outfitter in Maine that you can recommend? Can anybody get a bearlicens? And how many per year?
Best regards,
Rasmus
