Thought Bears were hibernating
Well we have not had much luck this last 2 weeks, ran 1 each weekend but couldnt really strike anything at all. The bears have slowed down and arent moving much if at all. So we decided last night it was time to do some coon hunting till the snow started flying. Well we had a pretty decen warm night in he 40's and were hitting one of our river systems and I let my Cameron female cast out a couple times and she ran one but we couldnt figure out what went on.....just ended up losing it. Granted it was wet everywhere and when you walked through the brush you were soaked like you jumped in the river. So later on we cast out my female and my buddies good walker female and I make a bet with my buddy on whos dog will strike a track first. Well his happened to wind something before mine did. So we waited awhile longer and then both of our females blow up and whatever they are chasing is almost coming right towards us but just about 20yds above us. We are all wondering what the hell is making so much noise and then hear this thing tree up in a big ponderosa right above us, shine our lights up there and its a bear. They treed this bear within about 200yds or less of where they started it. Shortest bear race I have ever been on. Got some video, kind of crazy. Could of turned into a LONG coonhunting night.

Also we usually sometimes see bear tracks in the snow but during this last week and a half we have had temps drop down into the single digits at night, and only lower 30's during the day. Kind of made the bears slow down a bit and thought it was winter before it was. Usually we are still seeing them out and about but not like they are in the summer.
