Re: worms
Believe you are on the right track... see the thread on wormer about 5 or 6 below this one.... Zmectrin Gold and equimax are the most affordable to use... I got some this week and a tube was $14,95... one of the cheapest ways to get rid of Tapes.
be sure and read the thread about wormers below this one
the tube is marked with weights for horses... so use the appropriate amount for a hound.

Re: worms
Tapeworms look like rice in the poop. They come from eating dead or live animals that have fleas or flea larvae or from injesting a flea. I'd be real careful with the Equimax. Doseages for horses vs dogs is way different. If you're giving the right dose of prazi, most likely your way overdosing the ivermectin. Different dogs react differently to ivermectin, overdose a collie an you might kill it, hounds seem to tollerate higher doses of it because their blood brain barrier is thicker. My vet said if you were to give the proper dose of Equimax to kill tapeworms in your dog, that would be 5 to 6 times too much ivermectin. My vet sees many dogs that are in siezure and sometimes die because of misdosing with ivermectin!
