One Eyed Bear?!?

Post by Redwood Coonhounds »

I guess what they say is true - These dogs are lucky if they could catch a crippled bear.

We'll we happened into some luck today and put a one eyed bear up a tree.

Was a slow morning, a lot of sign, but nothing since before the rain. Then we got a blow up strike, turned em loose, and they treed this little fella about a hundred yards off the side of the road. He pretty much went down into the canyon and up the other side, and treed right before the top. Not real big, 100-150 lbs.

None of us noticed his eye until we were getting ready to leave. The tree was super foggy, and he was up there a ways.

I guess we'll know if we tree him again! Next time we might just tag him, see what the hell is up with that eye!! LOL Never seen nothin' like it.

It was really hard to see him, I was thinking cherry eye, but to me it really looked like that eyeball was hanging out of the sockett. Who knows. But it's one to remember.

Here's video of this tree. It was so foggy you can't really see in the tree. Pictures turned out a lot better.
