Does anyone use Panacur horse wormer in their hounds and if so what dosage do you use? Thanks, Dan

I use safegard horse worm(same active ingredient) multiply weight of dog by 4 or 5.On the plunger end of tube is marked off 250 500 750 lbs with smaller marks between. So if dog weights 50 lbs 50 x 5 =250 give that much 3 days in a row. Have used this method for years.There are several threads on UKC right now about wormers that can give more facts and dosages on pastes liquids ect.Hope this helps.

Panacur and Safe Guard are the same thing, they come off the same line in the same factory. I buy the small tube of Safe Guard, squirt the whole tube into a container that has a lid. Add 3 oz. water mix throughly. If you need more wormer buy 2 or 3,4 ect... add 3 oz. per tube.
Depending on your hounds size give 6 to 12 cc's 3 days in a row. I start giving it to puppies at 2 weeks old I give them a 1/2 cc 3 days in a row. 6 to 10 week old pups I give 1.5 cc's 3 days in row. 3 to 6 months old 3 cc's 3 days in a row. I'm usually hunting my pups after that age so they get treated like any other of my hounds. I don't think you can give enough of this to hurt your hounds. I've been worming dogs before and the container of it was setting some where in the pen, turn aroud to see that a pup has drank all of it many times. You won't have to fight with your hounds to give this to them either because it is bitter sweet they will jump all over you when they see you coming with it.
This works I've beem using it for years, Billy Bryan of De Queen, AR is the one who me to use it.
