I checked out some great country and had some wonderful saddle time, but found no lion. Bummer? Oh not really I had some hounds that may be the first to have ever been on the very top of Baltazar Peak drinking out of an ancient basin in the rocks worn by time and erosion and the formed walls around showed sign of ancient indian Anasazi culture. Not a bad way to spend a day would say.....

I was hoping you would post your adventure for that day,Sounds like it was a good one even without the lion,I know what you are mean about just being out with the hounds seeing stuff,Makes a guy or gal just appreciate being alive!! Glad you shared, there are very few if any "dark thirty" type days that arent memorable in some way,Heck just loading up at that time smells like promise to me,

Hey Mike your makin me jealouse!
I have to be elk huntin when I'd rather be lookin for mister lion. Although I think I would see a hell of a lot more elk if I would get my eyes off the ground lookin for tracks and scratches. I'm afraid in my case this lion hunting has ruined a good elk hunter! Oh well my hunter got an elk and I found some scratches not a bad elk hunt!lol

MY WIFE AND I JUST GOT BACK FROM LAS VEGAS,NO DID NOT BRING HOME ANY EXTRA CASH.
WHEN WE FLEW OUT OF THE AIRPORT WE HAD NICE AFTERNOON LIGHT OVER THE DESERT AND GOT A GREAT VIEW OF THE COUNTRY THERE FOR MILES AND MILES.
I GOTTA BE HONEST AND TELL YOU GUYS THAT I WAS DUMB STRUCK BY THE SIZE OF THE ROADLESS COUNTRY AND NASTY LOOKING PEAKS AND CANYONS.
I TRIED TO IMAGINE MYSELF OUT THERE TRYING TO RUN A LION AND I GOTTA TELL YOU GUYS,I THINK IT'S TOUGHER THAN MOST PEOPLE THINK.
YOU BOYS HAVE GOT YOUR WORK CUT OUT FOR YOU FOR SURE,I GOTTA TRY THAT SOME DAY!
