price of dog food

Is it just me or has dog food gone up an extra 5 to 8 bucks a bag in the last month? (central california). The cheap food and the good stuff all have seem to go up in price. From the feed stores to the grocerey store its all gone up. Is this just a local thing or has anybody else noticed this?

It has gone up, it went up when gas and corn went up and followed those trends really tightly, when they went down it still hovered really high and continues to steadily climb independently of the gas and corn markets. It followed the trend at their convience and became independent at thier convience.

one dog owner told me he could go to Costco and buy chicken in large bags [thighs] cheaper than good dog food. i have no dogs now so I don't know ,a friend has 50 coyote running walkers, 10 beagles and 3 treeing Walkers he gets most his food from a school lunch cafe, try restaurants,he furnishs the can[keep them clean] and pick up daily.If I was a hog hunter i would grind that old boar up for dog food and eat the shoat
just worm often and mix a little good food with it.
