not a very good picture, but from what i can make out ears look a little to big for it to be much of a bear.can"t be more than 25 yards from trail cam at night... my guess would be around 125 and thin nose most likely a sow......

I agree with wingpatch. It looks like a sow to me. Lucky to hit 150 but that is a shot in the dark....literally.

I think its a smaller bear too. The head is best place to look for sizing. Ears stick out more on smaller bears. Between 100-150lbs.

just a tip when using a camera and wanting to judge the kritters on it...put guide stick up or marks on trees that will tell you for shure well that bear is over waist hight or the distance between them two trees are so many feet...that will help you judge alittle better....but then again im no pro....but thats my two cents

Best bet is to find a track and measure it, kinda takes the guessing out of how big the bear is. I had a guy tell me once he was baiting for bears with a bow and couldn't see a track to gauge the size of bear hitting his bait, so somebody told him to sprinkle flour around his bait so a track would show. If the ground is hard or grassy bring something (soil, flour, whatever??) so you can get a look at the track.......

The head is narrow. The bear is not long, but it has a pretty good gut on it. My guess would be a 150-175.

Best way to judge bear size is to measure the track

how do you get an idea of the weight of the bear from the track...?? sounds like a math problem to me.

The fair way to compare the size of bears is not by weight , around here it is almost impossible to get a bear out whole to weight it. This is why B&C and other scoring systems don't use weight.
