Story of my 447 Lb Bore.
Well ,what started out as a day of scouting the beaches up here in Warren N.H. turned into a hunt of a life time for myself and John Green of Greens Guide Service. With two of Johns hounds ( Sky and Tramp ) we got on to a hot bear track hiking Mount Carr. At that point the work began, away the hounds went and we started hiking!! We were in about 4 miles when we caught up to this monster..Though this Bear never treed it left me with a small window to take him. The hounds worked hard to slow him down enough to let us get ahead of him on the mountain. With the wind perfect and excitement flowing this bear was about 20 feet away and gave me a great shot..My Winchester 270 did the trick and the bear expired in a few seconds... Thank god for hunting buddies they came out and helped with the drag !!(thanks guys)..Thanks John for a hunting experience of a life time Ill never forget.
