Wisconsin Bobcat

Post by blackpaws »

This cat gave us a good hunt. cut the track about 10:00 A.M. and put Pilot, Clifford, and Princess on it. they worked the track through some real tough spots. the cat would hit the creek and walk down the bare ice and the dogs would cold trail him right down the ice. as soon as they got him jumped the race went away from the ice to the thick swamp and circled. we think they treed a couple times and blew past the tree and then would come back and find it. the 2 young dogs would get out ahead and the old dog would find it for them. finally he treed and pilot located it and the others joined in.

Great job fellas.

Did that little fella have any trouble getting around in the snow?

How did your dogs feet hold up in the ice?

Looks like you guys had FUN!

Thanks for sharing, Don

me and the little guy had road duty that day. he goes in a ways but gets tired fast in the snow with the boots on.

the dogs feet are pretty good. nothing was real crusty just bare ice. it was just nice to hear them work the track. they did a real good juob working through some tough spots.

Last weekend was a doe only statewide gun hunt so anyone in the woods needed to wear orange.....Once that is done then we don't need to wear orange....

Congrats on the cat blackpaws, did you guys weigh it?

Man, you guys got a reperesentative of almost every age group. Only need to see grampa in a wheelchair and you got it all. It's great to see. Glad you still have some cats that will climb a tree over there.

didn't weigh it.

i guess the dnr thinks there are too many deer so they needed another deer season. it sure will be nice to not have to wear it anymore. this cat was a smart one but not smart enough for the dogs. a couple young dogs would blow by the trees it would climb. they might have figured it out now though. but when they found him again they really honked on him.
