Howdy,
I recently moved to the Salome, Arizona area, and am looking for a hunting partner(s)within a reasonable distance drive. I have one good dog and 3 young dogs (yearlings). I like to work the dogs a few days a week, train, road, and run coon, bobs or long tails. Anybody out there? Anybody got any suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks guys for the invite. I will keep that in mind when I get over your direction. I am still looking for someone closer to Salome. That is west of Wickenburg, in La Paz Co. I am semi retired, so can go hunting any time... have pickup, dog box, mutts, will travel

I live north of you in bullhead city, but moving. If you go to the ukc hound forum and look up events in az there is a contact number for jean ramm, she could help you out. I know they hold ukc trails there in buckeye

Re: Wanted: Arizona hunting partner
I just posted about needing a hunting partner in AZ. I live in Vail and need someone to tag along with as I only have one hound...and I think he is good but we have only been training a little over a year and never done it for real.
let me know if you are interested.

Howdy Dustin,
If you don't mind running dogs with a woman, I'd be happy meeting you! I started running hounds in the late 1970's (yes, that makes me an old timer), stopped to raise a family, and got re-hooked about 5 years ago. My son guides in Idaho, and we hunt together when I visit North. My dog pack is in shape to run something, but since I am new to the area, I haven't figgured out the best places to go yet. I have one good dog, but I hear that I still will have to break him off javelina (we haven't tripped over any yet) as they smell like game they say. My young dogs are picking it up for trailing, but my good dog still does most of the work. I am near the KOFA but the way I read it, we can't run anything in there. Regarding running lion with only 1 dog...I had a B & T get killed by getting to the tree in a pack of 4 dogs. She was always steady but not fast, but had a great nose. For some weird reason that day, she was the only one that made it to the tree. In my opinion, it is safer with more dogs on the big kittys. I think you are smart to find a hunting partner.

Re: Wanted: Arizona hunting partner
A hunting partner is a hunting partner...I am just looking for someone to run my dog with for protection and also maybe to teach him something. i am also new to the area and dont know where to go except for where i have read online. let me know if you are planning on going out anytime and maybe i can meet up with you somewhere around the middle. I live in Vail AZ and was thinking about doing some hunting around the Globe/ Superior area or maybe unit 27, but that's pretty far for you. dont know of anything west of pheonix, but i am sure you know of some places.
