Its a love/ hate relationship with me. Mostly hate and Garmin has them more than I do. I have 2 Astro's and one is into them at all times.

Had mine for over a year now and havent had a problem aside from breaking long range antennas and the dogs beating up the collars. The bounce is so bad here, its a real time saver having them.

Best thing since sliced bread.

Still needs imrovements but if you pick up a signal you know exactly where your dog is at versus hiking up a wrong ridge following a bouncing wildlife collar signal. I always run both garmin and wildlife collars. If you are hunting in wolf infested country you will want to know where your hounds are at all times.

They will last a couple of days but you have to charge them after every day. If you don't, that will be the day your dog is out over night and you'll hate yourself the next day for not charging it.

17 hours on 5 second update.
Not a bad idea to put on 10 second update (even longer life) for cats since it isnt as fast past or as long of a race (when jumped) as bears.

There great as long as they pick your dog up, where i hunt it is pretty wooded so always having to drive around to pick up the signal. Always run the older style with it or you will be losing dogs!!!
