question for arizona hunters

Post by waylon »

I had a bitch and female pup 8 or 9 years ago the mother was blue & red ticked and the pup was all red ticked. The man who i got them from said they were "hendrix or hendricks" dogs from arizona and he did travel there alot to lion hunt. ?ever heard of them and if so can a man still get any of them.

God Bless and thanks for your help
Hoping ya'll have a merry CHRISTmas

Are you talking about Larry Hendrix? Never met the guy but a friend of mine is friends with him and speaks well of him.

I believe ol' Mecham tracked him down summer before last and brought one of his stud dogs up here to bred some of his bitches, guess ol' Hal must have had an inside line on the man. Hal tried to get me to take one of those pups later that fall but I told him I had too many hounds in my yard already; I also told him I had limited space and planned to bred some of my own dogs.

45 miles north, Osage County. I live 3 &1/2 miles south west of hominy in the Boston pool area along the arkansas river, surrounded by the buford ranch, and two drummond ranches each is about 60,000 acres and all the other is restricted indian land so a guy can hunt, hunt, hunt. Where did you live? also did you ever ( or do ya now) write a colum in full cry?

from what i can tell they are pretty good dogs on lion he's got some odd ways but they seem to fit him well enough only hunted behind three of his breeding they had a little variation in phenotype but all three where good hounds. but you already like them ain't much more to say to that

waylon, did you have any luck? I have two puppies from that stock and they are bang up little units, they are 7 months old and roll right along and smart for sure. I also have a year and a hlf old female from him as well. She is going unit. They are smaller dogs and fast as ever. One thing for sure is they are problem solvers. Oh yeah and they can catch lions
