In this ol hound world things are passed down from one man to the next, some ol folk lore some true country wisdom, I'd like to share and hear some of yours

I had an old man tell me one time always pick a hound pup who's ears set starts eye level or lower, thats how you get cold nosed pups , it never worked for me but he swore by it.But i did have some sure nuff houndy looking dogs. another one i heard is the male dog will throw more of his genes into the male pups that look the most like him

ANY BODY GOT ANY OTHERS YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD OR THAT YOU USE??????????

I got a pup that looks like his father, I havent heard him much but he sounds almost identical I guess. Seems like he gots what it takes, just a little slow, haha. Not sure if its true though. Guess time will tell if he is as good.
