Re: tell me a story
That sucks, stuck in a the south while cat seasons in full swing out west!!!! Well JC I trailed a big bob yesterday and they jumped him after about 45 minutes. He put up a desiant race for our country and in another 30 min they sounded treed. It took me about 30 min to hike up to them and I could tell on the way something wasn't right. When I got there all 4 dogs were at the bottom of a huge rim that had a big crack under it. One dog was back in the crack and I had to work to get him out he was chewed up pretty good, lucky he still had both eyes. I spent 2 hours there trying any way I could to get a shot or see the cat. He'd grawl pretty good when I poked a big stick in there but I never could see him or hit him with the stick. I took the dogs and walked around the corner for about 15 min and snuck back but know tracks came out he new the gig. So yesterday was cats 1 Jason 0.

Re: tell me a story
Well i went bear huntin slash bobcat huntin this a.m. Found a good hot bob track and turned on it. It jumped pretty quick after a mile and a half run they treed it. My wife and i were bout ten yards from the tree when i grabbed a dead tree and fell and the cat bailed out. It was my first try at bobs!! But still alot of fun my wife and i and my two english dogs. I am still just learning so i didn't get too upset.

Re: tell me a story
Me and a Buddy of mine went out Tuesday to hunt. Well it was about ten in the morning when we finnally got all the cattle chores and other stuff done and went hunting. We have got alot of snow here over christmas so we were very limited to where we could go. So we decided to take a road that ran between the White River and another creek. The land was owned by a friend of ours that had seen a nice bob in that area a few times. We cut a track right along the road in the creek we put a strike dog down and she got it going for about 100yds and kept coming back well my friend walked up the track and we found out that the cat had came up on the road and the maintainer had graded the tracks out so we roaded the dog for about 400yds or so and she took a track headed up a thick finger off of the creek we were trying to get to the top but couldn't because of snow drifts good thing because after a little while she jumped the cat and the race came right back down hill towards us (which by now we should know that alot of the races usually come right back at us, thank goodness the snow made us patient) well we turned to dogs into the chase and treed a nice male in a huge cottonwood tree. Only had to walk in about 200yds nice day.

Re: tell me a story
well me and redtickwalker went hunting in our little honey hole spot the other night, and my girlfriends 9 year old wanted to go cause he has never got to go hunting before.(He wants to be a guide when he grows up),so i figured i would take him and tree a coon or two like any other night. We went through some of our usual spots and found a bobber track next to a deer kill.We turned out my old dog and she took it up the hill really good,so redtickwalker turned in his puppy and they went over the next ridge and went out of hearing.I thought she cranked up a deer or coyote cause she was screamin it and she aint been tuned up on deer and stuff for a while.Well we drove up the road and beeped her up a canyon a little ways up the hill. She is really quiet mouthed so i cant hear her real good sometimes so we walked up there.Low and behold she had a great big old tom bobber in a little tree that wasnt much bigger than a piece of sage brush. The kid got to see the whole thing and now im thinkin he took over ownership of my little female walker dog,but thats ok by me cause it was awesome to get him in on that and to show him that dogs are sooooo much funner than the bars or video games
Good thing i didnt hit the shocker button i guess huh

Re: tell me a story
Had a good night last night we ran a big bobber for 2 hours before he decided to climb. He kept trying to run the road and than double back on his own track and I was able to stay in the race the whole time it was a blast. He was pretty good probably right around 30 pounds. We put the dogs back up (no snow, 40 degrees and clear) went about 3 miles and had another jumped race right from the pick up. We ran that cat from around 5 am until 9 am in the morning. He stayed in the rims and I had 4 dogs rimmed out on 2 rims along about 3 miles of canyon. The last dog was treed when I got there but I couldn't find a cat anywhere. There was a cottonwood tree about 25 yards from the tree she thought it was in and I could see several holes in it so who knows but I only got to skin one today. I'll try and post a few pictures for ya tomorrow.
