Just like the other post this one is filled full of BS. Anyone that has hunted long enough and ran enough lions knows what goes on. My advise to all the newbees is hunt the way you want if legal in your area. Listening to a bunch of hypocritical BS spewed by other houndsman isnt gona help you get your dogs to as many lion trees as you want. My advise is also get out and follow your dogs dont just sit on your azz in the truck with a tracking system. That way you can see what happens. Anyone that says they havent treed large or small kittens just hasnt lion hunted very much except on the internet.
In our area with a good tree ever 3 ft way there are very very few cases of the dogs catching kittens on the ground and or pulling them out of low branches. Turn loose on any lion track and you have a chance of coming to a tree with kittens in it. Also the bs about chasing a pregnant female. The fact is that almost all adult females are either pregnant or have kittens at all times. So if you bleeding hearts feel bad about chasing one just dont turn loose on a female period. Or a Tom track as it might cross a smoking hot female track and the dogs will take it. Heck I guess the best way to avoid catching a pregnant female and or kittens is just stay home and take up Ice Fishing... dgarrett

I don't think that anyone on here has said that they haven't treed females with kittens,
or they haven't treed females.

All the brow beating that has been given out is over comments people have made about turning out on females with small kittens. I am not talking about free casting, turning out on a female track or sub-adult for the purpose of training, so I hope that everyone has a clear picture of what I am talking about. If people make stupid comments, then they deserve what they get. That goes for people talking about another man's dog, yet they have never hunted with them.

There is no doubt if you hunt lions enough you're going to tree females and females with young kittens, but to get your panties in a bunch because others on here speak out against the practice of turning out on females with small kitten and to deny the negatives of doing it for fun, everyone should question that practice.

This hound dog forum gives people a place to share their hunts, pictures, stories, views, and opinions. We all enjoy the sport and I would hope that we all would do everything we can to preserve it - that means thinking before we write and posting pictures that show hound hunting in a good light.

I am one to really enjoy stories of hunts and pictures of the hunt but everyone needs to really stop and THINK before they post pictures and make sure they are suitable for viewing as this form reaches alot of viewers. If you got a great story or pics share it with us but remember not all are hunters that view this form If you got pics and stories that are in question keep them between you and your buddies. later, Andy

I'll agree with you Andy, too many people watching with bad intent--not only non-hunters but hunters alike. I personally believe the time for sharing is about over and all that is left is talking about the issues of our sport.

That is for sure Ike, I personally enjoy pics of the hound rather than the game. I catch myself taking way more pics of the hounds rather than the cat! They to me are is what its all about. jmo later, Andy

I made the post to laugh at the hysterity that everyone was showing towards females with kittens being stretched and what not.

The Facts are, we did NOTHING wrong. We turned loose on a female track and ended up with her treed and 2 kittens treed in different trees. I've treed kittens before, big deal.

The funniest thing about all of this to me is... if one of the "Experts" had posted the same pics, everyone would be giving high 5's and saying good job.

Went out this morning, found a female and female only track, decided to turn loose.

On my way into the tree I could here the dogs treeing. About that time i come across the track that I was sure I turned out on heading out of the canyon with no hound tracks on it? Dogs are still treeing ahead of me??

A little farther up twords the tree I find another track. A kitten, small one at that heading out in the direction of the female.

Made it to the tree and low and behold, what a cute little fella. Leashed the dogs and walked away.
