Nolte I believe you are probably right but they can compete and win against anyone .
I am not talking about the WAC here but the MWC has shown they are as deserving if not more so to have a automatic bid than several of the other self proclaimed power house conferences

I agree with both Smiley and Nolte. I dont think if Boise had to play a harder schedule they would be as highly thought of. I also think the MWC from top to bottom is probably a better football confrence than say the Big East or the ACC. The problem is those two confrences bring in a lot of money because of their basketball teams, thus they get a little more pull. A money thing again.

I don't know if I can quite agree with that. The ACC is down this year compared to year's past but there are still some quality teams with quality programs in it. I used to get tired of Florida State competed for a national title every year. The Big East is a little worse than the ACC, but still has some pretty good teams in it.

I don't disagree that BSU can "compete" with any of these teams on a one game basis, but I don't think they would fare well playing a tough game in game out schedule.

They dropped the 2 game requirement, and said we will play you on your home field on a one game basis. Where are the big boys?? Can BSU beat them all everytime? NO! But the "big boys" can't run the risk of being beaten "high school boys" from Boise.
Okla. was sternly warned that they better not go to Tempe and lose to "Little" Boise.
When BSU loses those five seniors, you would think that the "real teams" would be standing in line for a shot at Boise.
I am hoping BSU can get the job done, but TCU is no fluke either. They beat us last year and both teams are better this year.

This is a simple fact none of those so-called powerhouses will do a 1-in,1-out deal or even 1-there. We've got Va. Tech scheduled in Oct.and now they suddenly want it moved to Labor Day (hoping it won't happen is my guess),my guess is it will be moved up

BSU has 2 BCS wins in 2 appearances,so say what you will,BSU says NEXT!!

Attention= The ole' guy

The Sooners have been participating in college football since 1895. Calling Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium at Owen Field home, the team has won numerous bowl games, 41 conference championships (including every Big Seven championship awarded), and seven Associated Press National Championships, making the Sooners football program the most decorated in the Big 12. Oklahoma has scored the most points in Division I-A football history despite the fact they have played over 60 fewer games than the second place school on that list.[2] OU also has the highest winning percentage of any team since the start of the AP poll in 1936.[3]

The Sooners possess seven national championships in football, with the 1950, 1955, 1956, 1974, 1975, 1985, and 2000 seasons featuring the top team in the Associated Press final poll, and the 2000 Bowl Championship Series National Championship as well. This ties Alabama for the most national titles of any Division I college football team after the end of World War II (which is commonly used as the division between eras in college football).[4][5]

In addition to these seven acknowledged national championships there are also nine additional years in which the NCAA's official record book recognizes the Sooners as national champions: 1949, 1953, 1957, 1967, 1973, 1978, 1980, 1986, 2003.[6] the Associated Press, United Press International (UPI), USA Today Coaches Poll, or the Bowl Championship Series (BCS).

What about your boys, Oh Yeah sorry thats probably a sore subject

Waylon, Great historical facts, cannot be denied. But the bottom line is, what is their winning percentage against little old BSU?

I really dont have a clue what the percentage is, First of all I am really an Oklahoma State fan ( NOW THATS FUNNY RIGHT THERE  ) I was just sticking up for OU cause there my second fav. team. But facts are overall year after year there one of the best teams in the nation, not every single year but bsu come on your not really comparing them to OU are ya.Not really in the same class. sad but true

Here is bsu stats lets compare to the aforementioned ou stats
Team records
Consecutive victories: 22, 1980-1981 & 2003-2004
Largest NCAA Division 1 margin of victory: 74 vs. Humboldt State, 1986
Victories in a season: 14, 2009

THE RECORDS SPEAK FOR THEME SELVES

Yep...we got the taters but it sounds like Oklahoma's got the haters.Kind of interesting that after the Orange Bowl on Fox,Jimmy Johnson said the best game he has covered in the last four years of the BCS was BSU's victory over Oklahoma.I got to agree with him.

One can argue forever about whether a BSU, Utah, or TCU can compete in the SEC, Big 10, or any of the other "big boy" leagues, but the truth is that BCS schools have a LOSING record against teams from non automatic qualifying conferences in BCS games!

It's a fact.

THE RECORDS SPEAK FOR THEME SELVES

A quick inquire of the computor and it appears that Okla has a 100% losing record when playing BSU in football. Can it be that true that Oklahoma cannot boast of even one football victory over BSU?
A champion is one who defetes all the challangers-- Fighting out of the red corner, The winningest team in history, "mighty Okla" and in the "Blue" corner little unknown upstart, "BOISE STATE".

And the winner is????

I'm sure that if Okla wants a rematch, BSU would allow Okla to schedual a couple of games in the future. At least 2 more so we could have a 2 out of 3 result by one team.

You are correct Kev, 3-1 with two big wins by Utah and the BSU over OK. GA did embarass Hawaii though a few years back. I'm not sure if this is enough of a sample size to show true dominance, we will see if the trend continues.

I think OK has moved on after their loss to overtime loss to BSU 4 years ago, sence they played in the national championship game last year. A 1-0 record with a win that came in overtime isn't exactly a massive trend either.

That was probably stretching a little. The MWC I would think is at least on the same level as those two confrences where you can't say the same about the WAC or Boise's confrence.

The thing about BSU's record against OU is stretching a little, to me anyway. Like was said it wasn't a butt whoopin. It took overtime and a couple of trick plays. I would say they where the more lucky team that day and not the better team.

Now you just failed you "judge of character" test!! Most of us will shoot you in the butt just to hear you holler.
Since we have broaden the horizon to enclude other schools, lets not forget BSU made a trip to play Georgia 4-5 years ago. Zabranski gave the ball away like he was running for public office, (like he tried to do against Okla in the 4th quarter) and BSU couldn't get out of town fast enough.

Your'e correct OU has a wonderful record and is a perennial powerhouse.Having said that have they ever gone 14-0? 2 teams have, didn't see their name on that short list, but they are on that SHORT list of teams defeated by little ole bsu in BCS games.
Now cab was only jokin about shootin you in the butt just to hear you holler, even here in tater land we don't do that, less of course we just take a notion.

Seriously,I'm glad your'e as passionate for your team as we are for ours, that's part of what makes college ball so much fun!!

Good luck next year, hope to meet up in NC game,it would be fun!!
