Hello from Oregon

Post by Cat_hound »

Howdy Folks! I am new to the site and to hound hunting. I currently reside in Oregon, but looking to move to Northern Nevada. I called the I.O.N. country home. I am interested in hounds that will run and catch long tails and stubbies no matter the conditions, who wants to wait for snow! I have learned a lot from reading all the post on here, lot of great stories. I am looking to learn more from the dirt track lion hunters out there. Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the site.If you are wanting to get into dry ground dogs, you should get in touch with someone down south in that desert country that breed dogs that can work a track out in the dirt.I picked up a pup out of Cedar city Utah back in 06 and the guy I got him from caught allot of cats in dry gound conditions. He bred dogs with that kind of nose and ability.Good luck and have fun hunting!!

Thanks catslayer for the info. Its going to be a little while before i make the leap with getting a pup. That leaves plenty of time to do more homework and meet more great people like on this site. Any how good luck hunting.

Catslayer, I'm from Lewiston and have a buddy down there in Cedar. Who did you get the dog from?
