One of my young pups has a problem

Post by Jason Waterhouse »

I recently had a litter of pups one of my pups is skinnier than the rest. There is alot of blood in his urine. He had been throwing up his food but hasnt in the last couple of days. The vet took a blood and stool and urine sample all came back negative (no problems). But this pup looks very poor looking. He has 3/4ths of the energy of the rest of the pups. We have him quarantined from the rest of the pups we are keeping a close eye on him. Any ideas Any body ever have a pup like this.

Update puppy is pissing alot and the urine is compleatly red. You would think a vet would no what is going on but they couldnt tell us. Pup seams pretty lively.

Jason, take him to another vet for a second opinion. IMO they certainly should be able to have a good idea what the problem is.

Jason, I strongly agree X3... you need a second opinion asap! What vet are you using?
The one in Hyde Park? They used to be very good. And, I know it's a bit of a drive for you, but Brown's in South Burlington also had a good team. Good Luck!!!

Took the pup back to same vet in Enosburg today when they did the urine sample the first time nothing showed up .This time the vet says its a urinary track infection.Put him on antibiodics today and some special dog food.

i hope all goes well with your pup. my buddy had a litter this year and had a hard time with parvo because of the neighborhood cats. sometimes its hard but that pup maybe the missing link to the dogs that you want. well...as i said i hope all goes well and the vet gets things in order for you to fix him.
