DOES ANYONE HAVE A SUGGESTION ON HOW TO MAKE A BEAR CLAW NECKLACE? I PROMISED MY KIDS I WOULD MAKE THEM ONE, BUT I'M NOT DOING SO WELL YET. I GOT THE CLAWS CUT OFF, HAVE THEM ALL CLEANED UP, BUT WHEN I TRIED TO FINISHING GETTING THEM CLEANED UP THE CLAW PART PULLED OUT OF THE INSIDE OF THE SHELL. I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO USE TO MAKE THE NECKLACE? THE INSIDE CLAWS ARE WHITE, SHOULD I GLUE THEM BACK IN THE SHELL AND USE IT THAT WAY?
ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE VERY APPRECIATED.
THANKS - JASON HUNT

Not sure about the claw thing? Maybe glue? Don't know if a claw would "slip" similar to a hide or not? If you got the whole paw take out the toe bones right behind the claws. They are jointed and you can get two I think per claw. They have a neat little shape like little dumbells and will get snow white. They are tricky to clean up but some salt and a sandwich bag will do the trick in a few days. Scrape the dried stuff off and just lightly boil them, add a little clorox in the water for whitening. Take the bonnes and claws and clear seal them w/ something like poly. Drill the big claw from side to side, so it hangs point down in the middle. Drill at least six toe bones from end to end. Drill the other claws from top to bottom, so they lay flat against you. Makes a neat little necklace on leather with the big claw in the middle a bone on each side then the flat laying claws, points down, then another bone each side, then the flat claws again and then the last two bones. Thats a one paw necklace. You can get creative from there. Good Luck.

Re: BEAR CLAW NECKLACE
If you just cut the claw from the joint which is a part of the claw it will slip.
Not sure if you are doing a traditional indian type or just a single but if just a single you can dip the top in some coloured epoxy like this to clean them up.
