Sloppy Joe

Post by POORBOY »

2 lbs ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1 cup water
1/2 cup catsup
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can tomato soup
salt & pepper

1. Brown beef, onion, and celery in large skillet.
2. Drain off fat.
3. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer.
4. Let simmer until reduced, about 30 minutes.
5. Add to toasted hamburger buns.
6. Add one slice of cheese.

You will never buy a can of mix again.

Jerry

Made this for the fourth time last night.
I usually use generic ingredients if possible.
Use Cambells Tomato Soup.
The generic just is not the same.

Poorboy, I tried the sloppy joes tonight. They are great. I like the slight celery flavor and the crunch. Thanks.
