How vocal are curs
Tryingto find some in fo on curs. Like how vocal they are on a track and tree. Nose quality. And how strong on the box they are and whatbreeds would be the best for coon and bobs and fox..

it's like asking the same questions about hounds. the answer to all are the same, it varies. it varies between breeds. it varies between lines within the breeds. And it varies between individual dogs within the breeds.
the best way to go about it, is to say what you're looking for in a dog. then ask who hunts & breeds curs (or hounds) that perform that way. then go have a look for yourself at the parents and decide if they are what you want.

okay, well basicly im looking to see if any open on track. strike of the box and med to warm nose.. and trying to find that all in one breed of cur.

stay away from most catahoulas & blackmouths. most will run silent or semisilent. best bet is going to be leopard cur (but may be cold nosed), most "popular" lines of mt curs (stephens, kemmer, canadian etc), and most treeing curs.

I had a lep. cur the damn dog opened every time her feet hit the ground, medium nose, treed ok, loved to run coyotes, so gave her to a kid that is using her as a decoye dog.

Stephen's Curs are open on track, good rig dogs, and nose varies as much as hounds.

I had a Wayne Hensley bred Leopard that was open on track head up dog .
