I have a problem. My dog will cold trail a cat track but when the cat hits a deer trail he stops and comes out. How do I stop this and make him hunt the cat through a deer yard. I was thinking about walking him through a few deer yards. I need some suggestions and or comments. We have a lot of deer yards. Thank you. Corey

I don't have any recent pictures of this year because I have no computer. Last years pictures are under bluetick coonhounds. MY CAMRON. I bought an old walker dog from someone with the last name green a few years back. Your father? He saw my camron as a pup. Looked just like his bluetick male. Don't remember the name of the dog. From NH I believe! Thank you for the help. I will have to walk him through a few deer yards. Corey.

sounds like somebody tried to start the dog like a bear/coon dog and done all the trash breakin[deer] before the dog got a good solid start on bobs first.It's kinda like with a kid,you teach him to talk first the you correct him as needed for the words he's not supposed to say.with bear and coon haveing such an abundance of scent it's alittle easier to do the preventive method.

very true about the order of training most people get so beat up about "trashy" pups. they get started on trash breaking before the hound has had much success at the intended game and they get to thinking its more important to get their ass to the truck when they scent trash then to run their trail through it. walk him through deer in the day time they'll break when they see you and if you continue right along he will realize its chasing deer that gets you zapped, not going BY deer. may take awhile but if he can and does run his own bobcat he is worth the effort. could hunt with a straight dog also.
