Hello again, We did hunt Cal. This is our second year. we did not get over into the Happy camp area. We hunt farther east. Im not one for crowds.
Thanks to all the nice folks we did meet. I know its alway frustrating to find anyone in the area you like to hunt. Myself included. We, my family, are very appreciative to be able to go to cal. and hunt our dogs. We were also suprized at all the positive attitudes towards hounders. We were overwhelmed at the service station, mercentiles and in the woods. We have took 2 bears home but we left quit a few in the trees. I thank all you Californias who gave us info and help when and where to hunt. We hope we were good guests and cant wait to get back. Thanks again Matt

Thanks Matt for leaving a few alive out here...anymore I get pretty upset with the out of area, especially out of state guys, most are guiding (without a forest use permit on top of it) and none of 'em can leave a flippin bear alive in the woods. Exterminators...not hunters is what I call them, because the Gods honest truth is thats what they are.

Hi everybody, hope all is well. Lippy do you hunt a lot with JR ? I was with Junior for 2 weeks during Thanksgiving in Oregon and was giving him a hard time about how he was known on here and didn't even know it. He also was asking who knew him on here, but he didn't recognize the name Lippy. Well, what a small World, lol . Does he know you by another name maybe?
Take care,
Beardog

We have more bear hunters here this year than ever before! There are some guys from Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Utah, and of course Cali. I was just wondering if anybody knew any of the guys that are down here.

They found me walken up the river levy carryen a single burnner lantern and had a carbide light on my helmett . I didn`t see any dogs in the back of there truck/ come too think about it Dave Fletcher carryed em out there looken me uy ! Bucky was a nice man and had the same blue eyes as I have and they remarked on that.Don`t recall the reason for that but its more of what I remember now in time of that night back in the late 50`s .plotthoundgirl wrote:Frog,
I don't know anyone by that name, but my Dad's name is Jim and my cousin's last name is Rhodes and they both live here in Happy Camp, my cousin used to hunt with my dad.
There aren't too many big bears around here right now. Tons of small guys though. There definatly was a decent amount of big ones last year though. I don't know where they all went! Everyone that is here has been doing the same as me.... treeing the crap outa the little ones.
Nora..... Do they have a dark grey flatbed and a red/maroon toyota?? I don't know many of the guys names that are here, just know the trucks.
There is one guy Clarence Stone, he's got washington plates... anybody know him? He runs all plotts, older guy.
