Have lots of these speedy little buggers around http://www.bcadventure.com/adventure/wi ... marten.htm
They make for a fast, circling-type race for the dogs, often going for 5 or 6 kms or more......never seem to tree however. You know the day....dogs strike hard, line it out and go, go, go. Surely, you think to yourself........there's going to be somethin treeing pretty quick here......but it never happens. After collecting the dogs you're left thinking WTF was that? Whatever it was just "evaporated" leaving the dogs bewildered. You wouldn't think that Pine Marten could make for such a race, but they do!
Ever get one of these buggers treed?

Re: Pine Marten
I had a dog once that loved Rock Chucks. I think they just drove him mad with the chirping and then running into the rock crevises. The only thing I couldn't break him of.
I like my men like I like my mountains...... Rugged, challenging, and WILD!!!
