in NC we hunt the poplar area , Roan Mt, Ball Mt and once in awhile in Spuce Pine.. your from western NC ??? I think you might know Chuck Baldwin or the Griggs Brothers Ronnie and Ricky they are down in Cheerokee County

Congratulations on the success easttenngater......it looks like you guys are having lots of fun......

It's good to see those photos of the bears and the country, thanks. Living out West where I hunt, a guy forgets how some of those woodland and river bottoms look with the forest floor covered in leaves--just don't see much of that here except in my yard or maybe in a good quakie stand. In my youth, I did a little stomping around in Oklahoma and Missouri and haven't forgotten how different it is to these wide-open spaces of the west.

Does the coast or the mountains produce more big bear?

The coast does by far ..they have more farmland and food for the bears,but we have our Tn short season when the coast is open so we hunt in our home state.They say the bear on the coast are some of the biggest in the nation....not sure on that put that what we hear

I live in eastern nc and there are sum big bears out here, i myself dont bear hunt but i heard of about a bear that killed last week that was between 600 and 650

yes ..Last week was the coast week they kill more bear there in one week then the rest of the state in almost 2 months. Have two friends that have high 500 pound bear from over there

I am from N.C. [Wilkes] what counties are best for big bear? [eastern]
on the coast. I know the western section [Tenn-N C line] are good bear counttry . a 600 lb bear is big I seen a 500# in Calif and he was big, got 6 gal. lard out of him.

Frog I hunt the tenn and NC line ...not sure the county names on the coast .....would say I i had a good way to hunt there I would LOTS of bear
