Utv with tracks or snowmobile

Post by buzz »

Just wondering if anyone on here has been around any atvs or utvs with tracks and how they compare to snowmobiles when hunting?

I use both Buzz. Quads with good tires are the easiest and best if you don't have snow drifts. I use ITP 589 tires on all my quads and love them. Sleds are a pain just because they are heavy, hard to get turned around, especially if you are towing a dogsled behind you. Tracks are good when the snow is deep, they go right over everything and are difficult to get stuck. They use more fuel and are much slower then a quad though. And you have to have at least a 650cc to run them. Power steering would be real nice also.
Here's a good place to buy tracks or just to learn more about them.

I WOULD AGREE WITH DEAN. I HAD A 660 GRIZZLY WITH TRACKS AND I THINK FOR CAT HUNTING IN THE SNOW WE GET HERE IN B.C. THIS WORKS VERY WELL. I SOLD THE 660 AND HAVE A 700 GRIZZ WITH POWER STERRING AND I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY TRACKS ON IT.I HAVE TJD TRACKS AND THESE CAN BE USED ON DIRT OR SNOW, SOME CAN'T AND I THINK THIS IS A BIG PLUS FOR EARLY SEASON.

I know of 4 hound guys that had atv's with tracks. They all have snowmobile's now.The atv's don't have the range that a sled has.I can run 50 to a 100 mile's on a tank of gas.The sleds will go place's the atv's only dream about. The atv's would be great in the spring time.

Had tracks on a rhino it would go anywhere but was slow and took a lot gas. I like sleds better cause you can cover more country faster

i had argo with tracks on it. it worked very well for me. i had a dog box on it that would hold 6-7 dogs easy and two people. i could hunt about 12 hrs on a tank witch was 8 gallon. this is what worked well for me. the only down fall was hauling it to where i was hunting was a heavy load for a 3/4 ton flat bed. it hauled ok on a trailer behind but trailers suck in the snow and the woods.
look up you might find it interresting. lol
