your in deep trouble when you get home! tell her you picked up the tiger woods syndrome  if i tried to average two bobcats a day i'd need four or five horses and airlift service for replacement hounds. you have perfected the sport to a science thats for sure. how many miles a day do you suppose your hounds run? I "think" your dad decided to start rigging a while back has this made a big difference in your success rates.

Yes Sir, Pegleg, riging allows us to cover lots more miles while in the woods. Road Hunting the Hounds in front of the truck we could cover 40 miles or so at best. rigging we can cover about 12 MPH....more country covered = more Cat found. But mainly rigging keeps the Hounds fresh for the real work.

I do not think the "Tiger" Defenses will help...fortunately she knows what kind of Kitties we are after. Not getting to town but once everyother day or so, the days run into weeks that keep running into more Cat Hunting. Dad may be stronger but I am getting weaker trying to keep him Happy.

We have the Hounds pretty Legged Up so they can stand the work. I am guessing the Hounds will avg. 2+ miles per Race. Some 1/4 of that..some 3 times that. The length of the distance from strike to jump, this time of the year with the rut on can be like Lion Hunting. The Rig/strike Hounds carry lots of the load putting the Cat out of the road.

Last night a Tom with LUV on his mind had wandered away from home and went 7.2 miles down three roads going home to make his "Custer". This time we had all the Hounds out and down as they had ran this Cat twenty hard minutes before he hit some BAD water and could get enough "AIR" to make his break down the road. Scenting conditions were good so when Rita found where the Cat came out of the water the Pack left down the road in Full Cry!

The Pack was able to make the Cat quit trotting and go to running which he can not do for long. Then it settled back down to a duck and dodge, squat and swim Race. The ole boy decided to climb and Sambo (tw male) along with Rita and Penny Treed their heads off, right beside the road, on a Tussock, across shoulder deep water. We watched then loaded the Hounds, leaving the Cat to run another time.
