If there's "nothing special" about another Tom lion, its time you took a break. Nice pic of a snowy cat. He doesn't look too worried there.

Ike what you are telling us is you got dry ground dogs, and don't have to run in that crap.

Nice pic. Looks like it was a pretty snowy day for a chase.

Being new to hounds and cats, I've yet to tree a lion. If that were me and my pot licker who'd treed him, he'd be pretty dang special to me anyway.

Thanks for sharing

I guess I never took the course about the different levels, or I missed that memo.

For me it's much more simple. I just view it as lion hunting and view myself as a lion hunter.

If I wake up to go hunting and there is snow then I'm a snow belt hunter, or beginner 101 level as you call it.

If there is no snow and dry ground then I'm a dry ground hunter that day.

I'll just keep it simple and call myself a lion hunter. I'll let Mother Nature and the internet guys decide what level or category I belong in.

I'm just happy to be on the mountain and grateful for every tree I stand under, whether it's 95 degrees or there is snow falling down my neck. I'll leave all the other drama and explanations to those more qualified than myself.

I'm just a dumb lion hunter, so don't ask me.

Interesting that you would mention the snow and crappy weather making me feel at home and talk about how "age and wisdom" has made you more picky...

You might want to scroll up and look at that photo again, because it appears to be taken during a raging blizzard. ;)

You spent the weekend out in that stuff and I spent the weekend in a free cabin at Sundance with a free steak dinner and Sunday brunch buffet thrown in.

So I guess we all have a different definition of "wisdom" that comes with age 'eh bud? ;)
