Re: How ya all hunt?
I rig and road both. If i dont get a track started at least the dogs get some exercise. When rigging for bobs i try to stay around 12 miles an hour. I leave all my dogs loose on the box , so when i want to road them i tell them lets go . and when i want them to load up i tell them to load up. never have to get out of the truck. When doing this it is important to make sure they jump down untill you tell them to. There are alot of logging trucks where i hunt so if you meet one and pull over to let them by if your dog jumps down there is a chance it could get ran over. When my dad was a gov. trapper he could unload his three wheller and go check his traps for hours and the dogs would not get off the truck. And they where hard headed blue ticks.
I have gotten 2 new dogs in the last couple of months and it only took a coupl of trips to have them doing this. sorry if i got to rambling.

Re: How ya all hunt?
In my opion raising dogs is like raising kids. If you say something and they dont do it there are consiquinces. say it once, maybe twice never three times. the way i hunt the dogs might get up and down ten, fifteen times a hunt. so it dosnt take long to see what is happening. i will bet you give me any dog there is that is old enough to load up and in three hunts i will not have to get out of my truck to load them up.

I left something out i dont do any work with the dog at the house. People will probably disagree with me on that but i like my pups to like the other dogs more than they like me . they seem to start faster that way . they dont stand at your feet while the others are running the track. jmo
