Tritronics question
I know there are variables to this question but generally how long will the batteries in an e-collar and transmitter last? I have a Tritronics classsic and I was working with a friend and his dog with the collar on his a dog, a big B&T, and the dog wasn't fazed by the collar even with it on a high level.(Yes the collar was on tight) Got me to wondering about battery life. Is there any way to check the battery strength with a meter? Thanks.

Re: Tritronics question
depends on how it was charged, if you just charged it occaisionally, it might go dead after 3 years..I leave mine on the continual charge and the batteries still work after 6 years. I know one of my friends bought his Trash Breaker the same time I got mine and the batteries were dead 2 years ago- he just charged them before he thought he would need it.
in the owners manual of the Trash Breaker it tells how to check the battery with a meter.. but it will not tell how long the charge will last. only way I know is to charge it and then get your little test light out and check it ever 3-4 hours should give some Idea how long they will hold a charge.. if it will not light up the test light they are dead.
Oh I know a fellow who gets a new one every year to make sure they work... and he will not use the off brands.
