thats a interesting question most of the time you can tell what type of voice a pup will have early. however as to when the voice is absolutely mature probably 8-9 months for most dogs. I could be wrong as its not something I really put a priority on.

I sold a blue pup to a guy last year. He had a nice voice with a little rasp in it. We talked the other day and he told me the dogs voice had changed recently and now has lost the rasp totally and has a clear ringing bawl. he is 17mo. tomorrow. All dogs are different.

Most of them change a lot when I push that little button on the tri-tronics. LOL!

seriously I can usually tell what type voice a dog will have by 7-8 months but some will continue to develop especially those that may be on the weak or un practiced side. LOL!

Sort of like singing I guess you got to get out there and make some noise now and then to test your range.

This is an interesting subject. Why doesn't somebody start a thread about what you really like to hear in ahound's voice. I would but I have to go shut these barking SOB's up , I guess the Avon lady must be driving up........

nothing pumps my blood more then a loooong deep quaver bawl. however none of my hounds at this time have a bawl so I just sit back and listen to the singing however they want to sing to me. it does take some of the drama out of a cold strike though.
