Now I'm sure some guys on here would have the electicity to her already. Then asking if they're going to get their money back after they've ruined her. And we all wonder why dog deals go bad.
"Seldom does the dog fail the houndsmen, its usually the houndsmen failing the dog"
I could go on and on forever over those couple of statements you got there Dean. Preaching to the choir here for me. I'm with ya. Amen

That is great and I hope the dog turns out for everyone interested. Why someone would shock a dog for not hunting is beyond me. It is great that Ryan is doing everything the right way and you are correct that it will probably work out since she had already had a good base set down. Now for the other side. It is a consensus that Ryan is doing a good job...so....if the dog is traumatised to never return will Poser make it good? I'm just curious. I mean I know Poser is calling him and they are working through this and Poser does act concerned and I think he really does wish the dog had preformed really well .....BUT....is he $1500 concerened? I mean I have had it stuck the deepest up my $$$$ while I was being massaged on both shoulders. People that I thought were friends sure have taken me for rides on dogs while I was not only talking to them daily but looking them in the eye. Hey like I said before...I don't have a dog in the hutn
"Ok...now here is the real question. I guess there is no obligation BUT...you, Poser, say you feel real bad. If she doesn't straighten out are you going to refund the $1500. I mean all of the other expenses should be on him, but the $1500 purchase price should be for a dog that is as you say. Don't have a dog in the hunt....just curious."
Heat1, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I don't have cable tv let alone a computer at my house.
Anyway, to answer your question, No i would not refund the 1,500.00 This has nothing to do with feeling real bad....thats funny how you threw that in there.
The 8 month old pup was every bit "as i said she was" when i had her. I can't control what happens once she is out of my hands and have never "guaranteed" to. The only guarantee i put on my dogs is that they will poop and eat, and im half scared to even guarantee that. There are many different reasons why people buy and sale dogs, but you ever wonder why people don't raise their own? More people can ruin a dog then make one.....IMO.
I'm in no way saying this is what happened here.....I just wish there were more people like Ryan out there....willing to take the time and understand there is a problem and work on it, instead of complaining about it.
Guarantees and expectations should be worked out between buyer and seller long before money is exchanged. If i was ever to pay money for a dog i would make dang sure i knew what i was getting. that doesn't mean it will be the same dog when its in my yard but i will atleast know where the problem lies.
Some real good reading here everyone thanks for the replies, comments and questions.
Take care, jason

I had a friend ,bought a bear dog for $1000. Asked for a guarantee, and was told he could bring the hound back anytime, but the seller guaranteed he wouldn't have the money to give back. Just thought it was funny but honest.
All my life I wanted to be somebody, I now realize I should have been more specific.
Poser, have you considered the possibility that the dog you sold Ryan had some mental weaknesses under the surface that only became evident when the dog was exposed to a change of environment ? It appears from the testimony of others that this kind of behavior in your dogs may not be an isolated incident.I think you would agree that a dog should not be sold at a premium price if it was not physically sound. What about mental soundness ? I'm pretty sure that Ryan paid a premium price because he thought he was going to receive a premium product. Is that what he got ? It appears so far that what he received is the exact opposite.Your response to this unfortunate turn of events with this dog really has me questioning your integrity. This kind of selfish behavior along with some of your choices for company, have me wondering if you have any moral compass at all ? It is not my intention to diminish you in any way.Until this point I have always had high regard for you and the way you have chosen to conduct yourself on these forums but I don't think I am alone in saying that your choice to leave Ryan out to dry(if this dog does not turn the corner) is disappointing.I thought you were better than that.
right, from the sounds of things ryan has no choice but to be patient and hope the dog turns out. He already knows the money is gone regardless of how the pup tunrs out. Hopefully it will. I have to think that $1500 on an 8 mnth old pup is a hell of a gamble, but maybe that pup is that much better than anything out there, I hope so for his investment.
Trublue, your words against poser seem a little harsh to me. If you go back and read any of his prior posts you will find they all say the same thing, the only guarantee that he puts on his dogs after they leave his place is that they will eat and poop. I fail to see how that would leave you questioning his integrity just because he is standing by the guarantee that he has always stated. Do you really think you can diagnose an 8 month old pup "mentally unsound" that has just been crated up and shipped on a plane to a totally new environment with strange new dogs and a handler that not only the pup does not know but does not handle the dog the same as the guy who has raised him? I have bought dogs from Poser and his "choices of company" and would not hesitate to buy another dog right now or refer anybody to buy a dog from them. I have a littermate to this pup and I am so pleased with him I have already called them to put my name down for a pup the next time they make that cross. Poser's post's seem pretty humble to me, I doubt for one second Poser would misrepresent any dog that he sells. In fact if anything it seems like he never gives his dogs enough credit for all the game they catch. JMO, Cory
Why dont you guys get together and straighten this out. Maybe some one has an axe to grind or something I dont know But I think there are two people involved here the buyer and the seller. I am not going to tell anybody their business but a sale is a sale Too late to look back now If poser is willing to refund fine but when the money transfered hand the dog became Ryans. I purchased a coondog a few months back for $1200 hunted him several times and he is only showed me how to run deer. I havent even called the man to tell him. When I handed him the money it became my problem. I should have bought him under the tree not off the chain. If my situation dosent work out I will call the man I got him from and we will discuss it between the two of us. But I can only blame myself if he does nothing because for that much money I should have seen him under the tree. Just my opinion.
Trueblue - I know Poser, and he sure is not lacking in integrity. He is a very honest and humble person.
IMO - when the money changes hands, the deal is done. It either works out, or it doesn't. The buyer has to be careful to research the buyer, and do the best he can to make sure the dog for sale is what he wants. I personally would have no problem buying a dog from Poser, because I know him, and bloodlines his dogs are from. I assume Ryan felt the same way.
I bought a dog last summer. I paid $300 cash. When the dog didn't work out, it ran away, and I never asked for my money back. Just how it goes.

I should add, I did not buy that $300 dog from Poser, it was from someone else.

Trueblue and Larry, there is alot more to this story then there is time to post. Sorry if i haven't documented every detail and left the window open to assume......my fault.
To clarify a little more....When Ryan told me the dog wasn't doing "anything" I jumped on the phone and made some calls. I had two guys interested in getting Dixie that had hunted with her for the amount of 1,500.00, Bruce also stated in this post that if thing came down to it he would make room in his kennels. (thanks for that comment by the way Bruce) hope that the 2 culls you got are still workin out for you.
Ryan was not interested in selling her at all. I told him well if you are getting frustrated with her neither one of you are going to benefit and she is too good of a dog to go to waste. Things never got to the point of even discussing prices or shipping or.... Ryan said that he was gonna take a step back and just spend some time with her. He has been doing this and hopefully things come around.
As far as integrity, im not to worried what people think. I can't control it and im sure as heck not gonna waste time worrieing about it. I do what i do and people can form their own opinions and do as they do. It might actually suprise you how many different kinds of people i associate with and am friends with. Some of them can't stand each other. I don't get between the crap i just treat them as they have treated me.
There is always more to the story then meets the eye. Some of the things that you guys seem to have a question or problem with i have never guaranteed or promised in the first place. Once money is passed on a dog its a done deal for me.
Started a new topic on buying and selling dogs. This is to educate people and make sure that when you are going to purchase a dog you are both on the same page so these types of misunderstanding dont take place.
Thank for all the comments and questions.
