NO big deal. I think we are all in this Sport to have fun and enjoy our dogs. A little comradery with fellow houndsmen and support for a common goal, Using hounds to hunt. I think a lot of us forget that. No reason to get our panties in a bunch. Hope everyone is on better terms next week and cant wait to put those hounds in the woods for the UKC hunts next weekend. See you guys there.

It depends how much you want to spend.

$20 dollars go for the maglite 2 or 3 D cells
$50 dollars from Nitelite the Wizard Topper rechargable 2.7 pounds
$85 dollars the Nite Sport II Nitelite Rechargable 3 pounds
$125.00 dollars The Halogen Head Rechargable 4 pounds
$220.00 dollars Belt Light Bright Eyes 21 Volt Featherlight Rechargable 1.2 pounds

All of the last three you can put them in a cap or bump hat.

All of them will last you many years of service and more money usually is more brightness. The Bright Eyes has NiCad batteries means less weight and no memory when you recharge but the prices are higher.

I personally like my Streamlight Stinger.

I have a belt light and all that, but they are heavy and always in the way, not as bright. I don't typically need a real long lasting walking light. So the Streamlight is great. I think sometimes it could burn a hole in somethin' if you left it on there long enough. They seem to last quite a while, are light, come with an extra battery, and a car charger.

I'm blind as a bat, and even I can find a coon with one.

1st of i will say that i`m the national sale rep for the predator light. now with that being said, used about every light out there in the last 30+ years. i believe that most all the coonhunting lights on the market now are very well made and will get the job done, i will only hunt with the predator light. the reason for this is i wanted to get away from all the battery packs and cords, that`s why we came up with this concept. if you going to buy any light, i would suggest that you try a few out & see what fits your needs best.

a friend came out for coon hunt with me he had a laser torch bump cap all self contained battery pack rechargeable mounted to back of bump cap the bulb didnt appear to be a bulb at all but a center dot with 3 dots around it very light no long cord to tangle up it has high and low. low is sopposed to last eighty hours he said and high i cant quite remember but alot it put off a really white light with no dark spot in the center i use a nite lite hotlite and his outperformed it he got it from a guy in louisiana that used to have something to do with cajun lights the price was better than ebays or at least the one we found on ebay 150 is what he paid i liked everything but the bump cap and will wait till it comes out in softcap.
