Very Very Sad News

Post by Plott Proud »

I received an email over the weekend telling me of Mr. Gene Walker's loss of his dog, CH 'PR' Walker's Pocahontas Cody II .
This is very saddening news. This dog was a great Bear dog as well as a Dynamite Reproducer! He'll be greatly missed within the Plott Breed!!

I'm glad we've got a few of his offspring out this way that we can breed to!

Once again I'm very sorry for your loss Gene!

Irv,

Any idea of what happened to Cody II? I was telling my mom how Bloody Bills mom and dad both passed away...

How old was Cody II?

Just age I guess. He was either coming or was already 12.

Wow.

That's terrible. One thing I have noticed, I don't have very long with our Plotts... Even Bloody Bill was very sick and we didn't think he would make it... Cabo was sick for 2 solid years and died at 4. Ocho died from a disease from Javelinas at the age of 3. Deeds Died in his sleep at 4. Weather it is genetic or something else... I am a firm believer the Plotts just don't usually live as long... Maybe it is because they are the best and us humans can't handle that much power for a long time... I don't know. But it upsets me that I fell in love with a breed that my oldest dog is going to turn 5 the May 29th.

It is really heartbreaking loosing Cody II. without him I would have NONE of the dogs I have now.

RIP Cody II. Go help dad catch that bear ok

Have been around plotts for a long time and I believe they hold up just as good if not better than most breeds. I do believe that in some cases when a dog has been run hard, alot, it catches up with him/her sooner. Maybee a case of "not the years but the miles"?
