Birddogguy from Texas
Hello, I am a bird dog guy, pointers with tails. I joined this forum because I have ten extra car charger units for Garmin DC 30 that I wanted to give away, see the classified ad I will place. I can help houndsmen with some history of early houndsmen like James Avent, Er Shelley, Paul Rainey, etc. Also I own a complete set of Field Dog Stud Books for pedigrees of dogs from 1900 to 1947, this includes a few ancient fox hounds as they were imported to the USA. and the results of a few early hound and beagle field trials. My background with hounds goes way back to my childhood summers at my grandmothers farm, my uncle kept black and tans, which always seemed special for rural Louisiana in the 1950's. I and all of my cousins had a new pup and pet racoon each year to look after. Since the hunts were horseback in swampy forests, the kids were not allowed. But we all knew their voices.
