Re: need help!!!!!
My 7 year old dog got a liver infection and his back legs got real weak, falling down and progressed to being unable to stand. His other symtoms were watery eyes not alot but noticable and his tail was limp. Vet did a blood work up and that revealed the liver infection.
Anyhow the vet could not explain why this caused his back legs to get weak. A round of strong anti-biotics cleared it up and he was walking a day after I started him on them and a week later was back to normal. Vet was going to have me come back in and get him x-rayed ect when his infection was gone but didn't have to. This was back in Dec of last year and he is as strong as ever right now.

The first thing that comes to mind is "coon hound paralysis". I had not known much about it but you can find information about it on the web. I researched it because my dogs were scrapping with lots of coon when we hunted the river. I sure hope the spinal issues sort themselves out and your pup recovers.
